New me 2014

I had to share what Pastor Archie refference today in church. It's a confirmation from what I posted yesterday.

Ezekiel 36:25-27 ESV

I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.

21 Days of Intentionality: Day 8-21

per·se·vere
ˌpərsəˈvi(ə)r/
verb
  1. 1.
continue in a course of action even in the face of difficulty or with little or no prospect of success.
"his family persevered with his treatment"
    synonyms:persistcontinue, carry on, go on, keep on, keep going, struggle on,hammer away, be persistent, be determined, see/follow something through, keep at it, press on/ahead, not take no for an answer, be tenacious, stand one's ground, stand fast/firm, hold on, go the distance, stay the course, plod on, stop at nothing, leave no stone unturned;
informalsoldier on, hang on, plug away, stick to one's guns, stick it out, hang in there
"she will persevere regardless of the obstacles"

God knows me so well. To the point, we sometimes just sat back and chuckled with each other. He found several ways to reach me, and being in the spirit allowed me to recognize his "pep talks". The last fourteen days felt like one whole day in a seminar. But to sum up what he taught me, I can only define in two words... love and perseverance.

My testimony is this.. I am a new woman. In 21 days, he dressed me in his words and made me more beautiful than I ever was. my smile really masked the 13 months of hardship I've faced. But now, I realize that this was his will for the next level he has planned for me. I started to rejoice, praise him, thank him, meditating on the word, fasting, praying and he delivered me.

Some of the things he told me in these last 14 days
  1. confess
  2. obey his commands
  3. calling me to become a prophet through my visions and dreams
  4. persevere through tribulations
  5. be obedient
  6. love
  7. as, and if it is his will, it will be granted
  8. global vision for my business
  9. watch my mouth
  10. he is my provider
    11. write

21 Days of Intentionality: Day 7

21 Days of Intentionality: Day 6

21 Days of Intentionality: Day 5

Today I felt the enemy try to conjure up something. Indeed, I had a very bad day. My car and then my StepDad was stuck in the mud for 6 hours, my son made a bad decision that would affect him for the rest of his life, and just the regular daily let down of not accomplishing the goals  I set for the day. This day just added to my week that was already spiritually, and emotionally challenging. But I stayed in the word. God was all I had, especially on this day. I started ton think of Job and how he lost everything and feeling like I was losing everything. Then In remembered his strength and his continued belief in God. The devil wanted to me to "curse God" but I wouldn't and I real proud of that.I kept praising him and thanking him.

I am sure God is proud too.

James 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

21 Days of Intentionality: Day 4

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

James 1:5 NIV

Steadfastness

Additional Links
A word meaning to endure patiently. A steadfast person is one who is reliable, faithful, and true to the end. Paul said Jesus was a person of steadfastness (Romans 15:3-4 ). The NAS translates steadfastness with “perseverance” (2 Thessalonians 1:4 ). James said that trials that test our faith produce steadfastness (2 Thessalonians 1:3 KJV “patience”; NAS “endurance”; NIV “perseverance”).

Guatemala Mission: Day 2 - 9

Pictures and video is not deep enough to describe or experience in Guatemala. It does do a great job capturing each moment there, but it was an experience that involved mind, body, and the soul. Only living it with us would equal the experience. What can I say... my life has changed forever... God is awesome. I witnessed and heard testimonies of his miracles. Some days were long but the fulfillment diminished the minutes. For a while I longed for joy and I found it in Guatemala. Not to say there were anything out the norm wrong with my life. It’s just… I felt dormant and that feeling started to conjure up negative feelings in my life. It affected my mood, my relationships, my work habits, and even my eating habits. I cried out to God. I asked him to take me back… change me… use me. I didn’t want to feel useless anymore. And as crazy as it sound, he said go to Guatemala while I was bed ridden by my pregnancy. I learned a lot about prayer, faith, and obedience from his calling. I was inspired to never look at my failure the way I use to look at them and was actually ashamed of the things I worried about.

I am a Poet. I transcribe events in time. My words influence how history is told. I could of blogged about a country divided by war, stricken by poverty, children that are abandoned and sick. I could have captured their struggles and blogged about what they lacked but I felt compelled to give God the glory. Why exploit the negative when there were positive things to say. I want to use this event be an influence of hope, proactive minds, and God’s love for the world. The bible says, “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4 (New International Version)

I don’t know each child, woman, or man story that I came in contact with in Guatemala. But I witnessed a freedom that is dependent on God’s Grace and that was beautiful. The Holy Spirit does not discriminate. I saw children as young as my nieces and nephew break down in tears, rejoice, and made a commitment to serve the lord. The sacrifice Jesus made for us is providing, redeeming, and forgiving everyone that accepts him into their lives. And to witness their transformation was remarkable. They went from nothing to something in a matter of moments.

On the last day it was harder that actually adapting to some of the conditions we was exposed to. What was going to happen to everyone after we left stayed on my mind. I felt responsible for them, like I was obligated to see them through life. This is where I had to draw on my faith and remember what God had promised… Joshua 1:9, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” (New International Version)

As far as our physical labor, the team worked hard. It was 10-12 hour days. But I will do it again and is looking forward to my next mission calling from God. Please take a look at the pictures and videos I post about the trip. I hope it encourages you to go on a mission trip or support a mission trip by donations. If you have not found a place for God in your life, I hope this opens your heart and if you lost sight of God, I hope this encourages you to seek him again. Here are some of the things that we did.

1. Two bible lessons: The Butterfly lesson on how God transforms our lives and the Ant lesson to show how God wants us to work together.

2. Arts and Crafts: The children mad butterflies and ants

3. Music and dance

4. Transformed the children by doing their hair and nails

5. Taught sewing and patterns

6. Installed a sink and a door and other repairs

7. Provided medical treatment and medical supplies

8. Taught Christian Karate

9. Donated supplies, shoes, desks, and chairs

10. Served the children Pizza

11. Visited the church that Lend A Hand is building

Guatemala Mission: Day 1 ....Arrival

At 11:23
Guatemala City
greeted me.
And I
traveled across
Land and sea,
just like the
disciples.
All I am able
to do is
pray,
stay obedient,
and spread the
gospel of Jesus Christ.

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Joshua 1:9 KJV

Guatemala Mission: Now I see what God has been training me for.

Lend a Hand Missions is the organization that partnered with my church, Bridge Church. I went to their website and briefly read over their description of of our upcoming mission trip to Guatemala. It goes as follows,

" We will minister the Word of God to the children and staff.  We will also teach children and or staff how to use computers.  Ten refurbished computers are being given by Providence Computers.  We will teach staff how to sew.  Two sewing machines have been donated.  A third one would be wonderful so that we can teach how to sew and leave a sewing machine at all three orphanages.  We will provide medical assistance to the children in each facility.  If time and resources permit, we will provide some medical services to the nearby communities.  We will repair and/or upgrade the physical facilities. Prayer counselors are also needed".

The reason why  this passage stand out to me was because I shortly remembered all my life experiences and education within that few seconds. Then it became clear and I thought to myself, "God, You have been training me all my life". Anyone that has either read my bio or known me for even alittle part of my life, knows that I have taken on many roles in life and have been successful at them. I have to admit, some of these roles I embraced eagerly but some didn't even want. But the lord had placed some things in my heart and created opportunities I could not resist. They stood out to me so much that I listed some of them as a caption on my website... Christian, Mother, Poet, Event Hostess, Fashion Illustrator, Graphic / Web Designer, Community Advocate, Educator, Healthcare Professional... now Missionary.

I always prayed that God found a place for me in this lifetime where I utilize everything I learned and experience during the course of my life. Even after 10 years of changing my major in College, I finally found a major that I could use all across my professions in some sort of way.. Psychology. So, reading that passage was a confirmation that I am on the road that the lord has designed for me. In Guatemala, I can help install the computers and teach lessons in computer, I assist in the sewing lesson because of my education in Fashion Design from art school, I can assist in the medical services that is going to be provided because of my medical training, I can help in the orphanage because of my extensive experience in dealing with the youth, and I can now help lead people to Christ through the teachings at Bridge Church. I truly believe that I have definitely become a soldier in God's army through my testimonies and belief that, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life".
John 3:16
King James Version (KJV)

Long John Silver

Great deal on some seafood and a nice treat to those on a diet. But be careful because the calories maybe low but most of this stuff is high in fat and sodium. So just remember all things in proportions and healthy choices. Substitute the fries for green beans or try the bake cod instead of the fried fish.
