Guatemala Mission: Now I see what God has been training me for.

Lend a Hand Missions is the organization that partnered with my church, Bridge Church. I went to their website and briefly read over their description of of our upcoming mission trip to Guatemala. It goes as follows,

" We will minister the Word of God to the children and staff.  We will also teach children and or staff how to use computers.  Ten refurbished computers are being given by Providence Computers.  We will teach staff how to sew.  Two sewing machines have been donated.  A third one would be wonderful so that we can teach how to sew and leave a sewing machine at all three orphanages.  We will provide medical assistance to the children in each facility.  If time and resources permit, we will provide some medical services to the nearby communities.  We will repair and/or upgrade the physical facilities. Prayer counselors are also needed".

The reason why  this passage stand out to me was because I shortly remembered all my life experiences and education within that few seconds. Then it became clear and I thought to myself, "God, You have been training me all my life". Anyone that has either read my bio or known me for even alittle part of my life, knows that I have taken on many roles in life and have been successful at them. I have to admit, some of these roles I embraced eagerly but some didn't even want. But the lord had placed some things in my heart and created opportunities I could not resist. They stood out to me so much that I listed some of them as a caption on my website... Christian, Mother, Poet, Event Hostess, Fashion Illustrator, Graphic / Web Designer, Community Advocate, Educator, Healthcare Professional... now Missionary.

I always prayed that God found a place for me in this lifetime where I utilize everything I learned and experience during the course of my life. Even after 10 years of changing my major in College, I finally found a major that I could use all across my professions in some sort of way.. Psychology. So, reading that passage was a confirmation that I am on the road that the lord has designed for me. In Guatemala, I can help install the computers and teach lessons in computer, I assist in the sewing lesson because of my education in Fashion Design from art school, I can assist in the medical services that is going to be provided because of my medical training, I can help in the orphanage because of my extensive experience in dealing with the youth, and I can now help lead people to Christ through the teachings at Bridge Church. I truly believe that I have definitely become a soldier in God's army through my testimonies and belief that, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life".
John 3:16
King James Version (KJV)
